To prevent this situation and make this consumable last longer, using wax specially designed for crossbows will allow you to deposit a light protective layer on the strings of your equipment. Apply it to the rail and your string every 5 to 10 shots, and rub with your fingers to make the wax penetrate the fibers. However, be careful not to rub too hard to avoid damaging your strands. This little trick will only take you a few seconds and will significantly increase the lifespan of your crossbow strings.
Additionally, before installing the string, remember to make 9 to 10 full twists (360° twists), this will have the effect of giving a regular tension to all the strands for your next shots. This trick also works to shorten a string when it has become a bit loose.
